Last year looked a lot different on the festival front, obviously. Between full-on cancellations and pared-down events, adapting to allow everyone to come together in a safe way, there was no theatrical element to the festivals that were able to adapt. Beyond Fest returns to theaters after a sold-out residency at the Mission Tiki Drive-In last year, and they are going full force. This year's slate has thirty-nine features, including eight world premieres, four US premieres, seventeen West Coast Premieres and a ridiculous lineup of in-person guests. Festival-goers, prepare for ten days of cinematic excess from Wednesday, September 29th - Monday, October 11th. This year's lineup is STACKED, including the West Coast Premiere of Julia Ducornau’s Palme d’Or Winner Titane with Ducornau in attendance, and another Titane first — the film will simultaneously play in-theater on a never-before-seen 35mm print by CPC London, and on an outdoor drive-in screen, (so they didn't entirely ditch the drive-in this year!)

Lamb will also have its West Coast Premiere with director Valdimar Jóhannsson and star Noomi Rapace in person. Gaspar Noé's Vortex will screen, featuring "an astonishing performance from the maestro", Dario Argento. The festival is also home to the West Coast Premiere of V/H/S 94 with talent in attendance, plus a rare 35mm screening of the original V/H/S.

Blumhouse is bringing a double bill to the fest with Halloween Kills and The Black Phone. Halloween Kills Director David Gordon Green and producer Jason Blum will be in attendance, followed by a Q&A for the US Premiere. The Q&A will be livestreamed globally as the culmination of the super-producers’ annual Blumfest. Black Phone director Scott Derrikson will be attending the films’ West Coast Premiere.

VFX master Phil Tippett will be in attendance for a screening of Mad God followed by a Q&A (yes, Starship Troopers is also on the Q&A menu). It's a full-on 4K restoration celebration with Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, Blood For Dracula with the legendary Udo Kier in attendance and also Andrzej Żuławski Possession. Bloody Disgusting celebrates twenty years with special programming, including a slew of awesome guests, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, and Fede Álvarez to screen Evil Dead uncut.

Thanks to Shudder, all Beyond Fest programming taking place at the Los Feliz 3 Theater will be free! The Shudder Theater will be screening South Of Heaven, The Seed, The Feast, The Banquet, The Scary Of Sixty-First, The Sadness, Woodlands Dark And Days Bewitched, andSaloum. FOR FREE! Here's where it gets cryptic. " The Los Feliz 3 will also be home to a very special secret screening of XXXXXXXXX from the legendary director XXXX XXXXXXXXX."

Tickets will be on sale via Eventbrite on September 17th at 10 AM PST. Visit BeyondFest.com and the American Cinematheque for details.
