  • PAPER ON FILM™ ARCHIVE

The current archive storage solutions are primarily based on magnetic tapes and hard drives. These systems require periodic migration to fresh medium to ensure data survival and security.

Commerce is generating copious amounts of hard copy documents that may be subject to long term preservation due to legal regulations.

The long-term storage of archive material is a cost-prohibitive process. A new approach that provides long term data storage is required.

That's where we come in. We are recognised for our migration-free archiving solution.

  • HOW IT WORKS

    Scanning & Recording

The scanned documents can be uploaded directly to the CPC server, from here they are recorded onto Black and White film. Exposed material is then processed.

    Storing

A carefully engineered storage facility ensures your data remains secure.

    Retrieval

A CPC designed film scanning system enables swift document retrieval.
  • Fast. Reliable. Secure.

Each Paper on Film roll is 2000 feet long and has 32,000 individual frames. CPC can process 3 x 2000 foot rolls per hour which means it's possible to have one million frames available for paper storage in a 10-hour day.

    • CPC provides a safe, secure, long-lasting and cost-effective method of storing paper documents/images by transferring digital data onto 35mm black and white film.

    • Black and white film has a proven lifetime of 500 years.

    • The documents are scanned and transferred via our film recording systems to black and white film.

    • The film is processed in a darkroom environment through our film processors.

    • Film reels are placed into storage.

    • Individual images can be retrieved using our film scanning technology.

    • Film images can also be viewed by the naked eye using a lightbox and a magnifying glass.

  • HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

    broken image

    We work with you

All we need to know is if you have already scanned the paper or if we are expected to do this. We can build a bespoke system to meet your specific requirements. The customised facility would scan the documents, record them on 35mm film, store the reels of film, create an automated retrieval system and print back a previously scanned document.

    An illustration:

Scanned data can be uploaded to our server, recorded on film, processed and reels of 35mm film returned for safe storage. A CPC designed document retrieval system would be installed on site to enable document retrieval when required.
